12-Meter-High Facade Elements in Prestigious Building Project in Bergen, Norway

The Fylkeshuset building in Bergen covers an impressive 27,000 m² and brings together two counties under one roof. HSHansen has carried out the facade contract for the project.

The new county building is an impressive structure with large glass facades and the council chamber as the heart of the building. The chamber is elevated with views over the city and invites collaboration.

With the HansenUnitAl concept, the specially designed facade elements—some as tall as 12 meters—were produced at our factories, and the finished units were installed directly onto the building.

HansenUnitAl ensures rapid enclosure of the building, minimizing the need for materials and manpower on site.
This was particularly important because Fylkeshuset is located in the heart of Bergen, with extremely limited space and close proximity to railway tracks.
At the same time, quality is ensured 100% as the production of the special elements takes place under optimal conditions in our factories.

In total, 10,676 m² of facades were delivered and installed, of which 9,000 m² are unitised (modular facades) and the rest are stick facades.
